Campaign Overview

Clean Up the World aims...

To bring together citizens from every corner of the globe in simple activities that will positively assist their local environments.

To share with all nations and cultures information and practical experience that Clean Up Australia and other environmental organisations have developed.

To raise the awareness of governments, industries and communities about local environmental issues, particularly waste minimisation, recycling and waste management.

The Campaign
Clean Up the World is structured to provide support, advice and resources to all participating organisations in all countries. Membership is free* for non corporate participants and runs from January to December.

Clean Up the World Weekend (19-21 September 2008)
We encourage Members to undertake initiatives throughout the year. Clean Up the World Weekend in September celebrates the many important environmental actions and achievements of the year, and is promoted through our global media campaign and communication mediums such as our website and Activity Report.

Other Events
We also encourage groups to participate in other local, national and international events by organising Clean Up the World Activities for these special days. This may include national holidays or other international campaigns such as Earth Day on April 22 and World Environment Day on June 5.
