The Direct Aid Program (DAP) is a flexible, small grants program for selected recipient countries, funded by the Australian Government through AusAID and managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). DAP is available to individuals, community groups and NGOs engaged in development activities, in designated countries, on a not-for-profit basis.
The program is aimed primarily at supporting small-scale development projects/activities that involve beneficiaries in the identification, design and management of the projects. DAP is administered through 51 Australian Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates-General (Australian diplomatic missions), for projects in over 75 countries. Each Australian diplomatic mission has its own strategic priorities for its DAP.
Clean Up the World (CUW) Members may be eligible to apply for assistance to conduct their CUW activities under this program. To be eligible, projects must be focused on development and deliver community-level benefits on a sustainable basis. Members should contact their nearest Australian diplomatic mission for details of the application process and information regarding the date by which funding applications are required. All decisions in relation to this program are made by the local Australian diplomatic mission. Neither CUW nor DFAT can guarantee the success of a CUW Member's application given the large number of organisations who apply for funding under this program.
