Our theme: Communities Caring for Nature

This year we are encouraging participants in the Clean Up the World campaign to act locallyto care for nature in the International Year of Biodiversity.

The 2010 tag line is: "Communities Caring for Nature."

This theme reflects UNEP's World Environment Day slogan.

The issue: biodiversity

Although protecting biodiversity can seem like a complex issue there are a wide variety of simple actions that individuals and communities can take to make a difference. Here are just a few of the possible options that Members can choose from:

• education programs
• planting trees
• waste reduction and recycling projects
